Stream of Consciousness

  • I've been on the strugglebus lately. I can't even call it writer's block, because it's more like life block. I feel like I'm in a major rut. So I don't want to write a bunch of mopey posts, but I also don't feel capable of writing happy, frivolous things. This is the second week in a row that I've scrapped my pre-planned post topic for the end of the week because I've felt too grumpy for it and/or would rather just turn my brain off after work. Hence this disorganized mess of a post.
  • I swear, this grumpiness is a seasonal thing. I love spring weather (well, most of the time. Colorado may have 300 days of sunshine, but the 65 days of non-sunshine all just occurred back-to-back). But what is it about this time of year that just sends my mood into a tailspin? This is the third spring in a row I've spent in a state of "what am I doing with my life?" Probably because in 2013 I was graduating college, in 2014 my last job was ending, and in 2015 my roommate is moving out (and I still don't know when my current job is going to end). And lately I've noticed a lot of other bloggers writing about feeling just as down as I've been. So basically, spring is just... the worst, basically.
  • If you or someone you know is looking for a place to live in Colorado Springs, hit me up. I've got a vacancy opening in the next few weeks. Only sane people may apply. (Also, any tips on buying furniture for as little money as possible?)
  • In an attempt to get my life together, last night I applied to five jobs. In five different states.
  • My grandparents visited me earlier this week! They just moved to Florida from New York, and were in California for a Bat Mitzvah, so they decided to swing by while they were in the neighborhood-ish. :) I still had to be at work during the day but we had dinner together each night. I don't get many visitors out here in the wild west so it was really nice to get to see them and show them where I live! And I'm going home in a week and a half, and I can't wait! I'll be in New York for a WHOLE WEEK (!!!!) to celebrate my mom's college graduation!
  • I just finished watching USA vs. Russia at the hockey world championships, and I can't understand how the U.S. can beat Russia in the group stage but not when there's a trip to the gold medal game on the line. Sigh. Hopefully they fare better in the bronze medal game than they did during Sochi 2014. At least we have sled hockey, amirite? (Also, these RUS-SEE-YA chants in the arena are giving me some serious Sochi flashbacks!)
  • Speaking of sports teams letting me down, remember when the Mets were good? Now they can't buy a run and were just swept in a four-game series against the Cubs. THE CUBS. I am disgusted. David Wright, where are you?! At least the NL East sucks so they're still in first place. It's the little victories, folks.
  • I'm going to see Pitch Perfect 2 tonight and I'm so excited! Everyone I know that's seen it has been raving about it so I have very high hopes that it'll be aca-awesome! (...I'll see myself out.)

  1. 5 jobs in 5 different states - I love that. You could literally end up anywhere and it'll all be up to fate, who will call you first. That is an amazing attempt at getting your life together, and getting a new spontaneous life at that. Have fun watching Pitch Perfect!! Rebel Wilson is the most hilarious person you'll ever see xx

  2. It's June, and I can still relate to the mopeyness. I just don't feel like writing about anything!
